چکیده

The presence of newly emerging pollutants in the aquatic environment poses great challenges for drinking water treatment plants. Due to their low concentrations and unknown characteristics, cannot be efficiently removed by conventional processes, making technically, economically, environmentally friendly purification technologies increasingly important. This article introduces a one-step reverse osmosis (OSRO) concept consisting riverbank filtration (RBF) (RO) treatment. OSRO combines relatively low-cost natural pretreatment river with an advanced engineered system. RBF provides continuous source stable quality robust barrier contaminants. With pre-removal particles, organic matter, micro-pollutants (OMPs), microbes, becomes ideal system based on RO membranes, comparison direct intake surface water. removes almost 99.9% pathogens, viruses, OMPs, as well vast majority nutrients, thus meets requirements chlorine-free delivery high biostability. is cost effective compared standard series steps involving sprinkling filters, softening, activated carbon. Artificial bank (ABF), which functions artificial recharge combination sand system, proposed alternative supply from locally available resources. It also suggested that implemented wind power energy order more sustainable renewable. An OSRO-based decentralized reclaiming reuse. future focus systems provide through technically efficient, financially feasible, resource reusable, relevant means.

Impacts of extreme flooding on riverbank filtration water quality.

Riverbank filtration schemes form a significant component of public water treatment processes on a global level. Understanding the resilience and water quality recovery of these systems following severe flooding is critical for effective water resources management under potential future climate change. This paper assesses the impact of floodplain inundation on the water quality of a shallow aqu...

Gastrointestinal health effects associated with the consumption of drinking water produced by point-of-use domestic reverse-osmosis filtration units.

During a prospective epidemiological study of gastrointestinal health effects associated with the consumption of drinking water produced by reverse-osmosis domestic units, a correlation was demonstrated between the bacterial counts on R2A medium incubated at 35 degrees C and the reported gastrointestinal symptoms in families who used these units. A univariate correlation was found with bacteria...

Rotating reverse osmosis and spiral wound reverse osmosis filtration: A comparison

Wastewater produced by the crew members on a long-term space mission needs to be recovered as potable water. Reverse osmosis (RO) has long been in use as a physical membrane separation technology for wastewater treatment. However, membrane fouling and concentration polarization have limited the efficiency for high recovery reverse osmosis systems. An advanced high pressure rotating RO device wa...

Sorption of metals and metalloids from reverse osmosis concentrate on drinking water treatment solids

Drinking water treatment solids (DWTS) from coagulation processes could be a low-cost sorbent for selective removal of certain metals and metalloids from brine. In this study, continuous-flow sorption processes and factors affecting sorption of boron (III), copper (II), chromium (VI), lead (II), and selenium (VI) from reverse osmosis (RO) concentrate were investigated using different types of i...

Data on daily fluoride intake based on drinking water consumption prepared by household desalinators working by reverse osmosis process

In this data article, we evaluated the daily fluoride contents in 20 household desalinators working by reverse osmosis (RO) process in Bushehr, Iran. The concentration levels of fluoride in inlet and outlet waters were determined by the standard SPADNS method using a spectrophotometer (M501 Single Beam Scanning UV/VIS, UK). The fluoride content in outlet waters were compared with EPA and WHO gu...
